Try it Out Thursday #2

If you've got no clue what I'm talking about check out my last post

  1. The daily workout challenge actually worked! I went on a 4-day retreat and still managed to work out every day. I did find that this challenge was the only exercise I got most days. Next time I'll definitely add in 20 minute workouts. Unfortunately I didn't pick out any rest days so I was working out for 14 days straight. YIPEE
  2. The post workout scrub was great. It got rid of the excess bacteria on my face leaving it super soft! Next time I'll add Vitamin E oil or glycerin (preservative) to make the scrub last longer. Store it in the fridge, stir and use a spoon to scoop because putting your fingers back in isn't very hygienic. It works fab for your face, feet, hands and body also!

  1. Pukka night time tea. If your like me and you messed up your sleeping pattern got messed up during Summer, now is the time to get it right for School or Work. The oat flower is suppose to calm and nourish, the lavender is meant to soothe and relax and the lime flower helps to settle the mind. Not only is it important for School or Work but when you workout because that's when all your muscles repair and grow. I plan to drink this tea every night!
  2. Skipping. Apparently it's great for weight-loss you can lose around 1000 calories in 1 hour! your overall fitness, endurance, stamina and muscle tone (arms, abs & legs). With my rope I'm able to count my calorie burn and skips. I'll try and do it every day for at least 15 minutes.

What did you think of #1? Will you be trying out #2? What would you like me to try out next?

Back to School Healthy Breakfast Recipes

With school or work the last thing you should be doing is stressing over breakfast ideas. The awesome thing about these recipes is that they are prepared on Sunday. Meaning you can grab and go!

It's so important that you eat breakfast especially with School or Work because it's going to give you energy to do things and it helps break the fast from the night before! If you don't like eating too much have a banana :)

Recipe #1 Gluten Free Blueberry & Banana Muffins

Ingredients: 200 grams of Almond Flour (blended almonds) and Oat Flour, 3 ripe bananas, tsp of baking powder, vanilla extract, 1/3 cup of honey, a cup of almond milk, 2 eggs, 2 squares of dark chocolate, lemon flavouring and 150 grams of blueberries.

  1. Pre-heat your oven to gas mark 4 and line muffin tin with cases and a oil.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together then add  the wet.
  3. Blend bananas and place into the mixing bowl.
  4. Mix it all together, place into muffin tins then into the oven for 35 minutes or until the inside comes out clean. (Insert tooth-pick into muffin)

Recipe #2 Baked Egg Recipe

I like to have it with wholewheat muffin & avocado!
  1. Pre-heat your oven to gas mark 3.
  2. Mix 5 eggs with spinach and a chopped bell pepper. Season with salt, pepper, mixed herbs and tumeric (optional)
  3. Place in muffin tin and into the oven for 15-20 mins.
Tip: If you are watching your cholesterol or trying to lose weight just use egg whites!

Recipe #3 Overnight Oats

1/3 cup oats,  1/2 cup greek yoghurt & almond milk, strawberries & 1 chopped peach

  • Mix all ingredients together and place into an air tight container, leave overnight or for 2 hours.

Try it Out Thursday #1

Welcome to my new series! I try things out and come back to you in two weeks to let you know what I thought. Think of it like mini-reviews.

Scrub=  brown sugar, honey, olive oil & lemon

  1. With school or work we usually don't have time for exercising. With this daily challenge you are guaranteed to do something at least every day. "Slow progress is better than no progress". Make your daily workouts realistic yet challenging. Don't forget to throw in 1 or 2 rest days.
  2. If you eat clean and workout a lot your body naturally regenerates more skin cells. If you don't exfoliate it's going to pile on and result in nasty pimples. I plan to exfoliate twice a week.

I'm open to trying new things out so leave a comment and it doesn't have to be health or fitness related! It would be awesome if you could join and let me know what you thought also.

How to Kick-start that Healthy Lifestyle

A lot of people think this whole "healthy thing" is an effort and only for certain people. FALSE
It's for everyone no matter your age, weight, belief, height etc It's never too early nor too late to start eating and living right.

Get it kick-start?

  1. Add not take away. A lot of people think they need to cut out foods/drinks. It's easier and realistic to add more nutritious foods than take away the bad ones. Try adding a fresh fruit to your dessert before totally cutting out the meal. It's a lifestyle not a diet.
  2. Lean not to your own understanding. We're human we mess up and don't know everything. We should thirst to know more about Health & Fitness. That way your lifestyle change will be effective because you know exactly what and why your doing what you do. Eg. YouTube, Articles & Athletic people.
  3. Setting mini goals. You're more likely to reach smaller goals than one end goal. When you reach a small goal you'll feel more inspired to complete the next and the next. It's more likely to be a lifestyle change rather than a fad. Eg. Lose 15 pounds. A more realistic goal would be Try go on each cardio machine in the gym for 15 minutes 3-4 times a week. Do you catch my drift?
  4. When I lost all of my excuses I found all of my results. Motivation doesn't last, determination does. You need to find time in that hectic schedule of yours, after all it is your health and you are responsible. No gym? No problem! You have all you need there are tons of free info out there. People didn't post it for the good of their health, they did it to help you!
I hope this comes in handy when you start that healthy lifestyle. It isn't difficult at all, tons of people are doing it so why aren't you?
